Hamilton Heights Park Improvements

Consultation has concluded

Hamilton Heights Park will be closed to the public from August 9, 2022 until September 29, 2022. This closure is to permit improvements to the park

With its large open space and frontage on three streets, it is a very visible hub for neighbourhood play.

The park improvement concept plan above includes some great new design features, such as a centralized activity area within the park for interactive play. By forming clusters of play zones around a central shaded seating shelter, this project will create a neighborhood social hub for families and friends to enjoy a wide range of activities!

About the park features

Some of the existing features are near the end of their useful life, other features may no longer be desirable, and some could be moved to a better location in the park.

Proposed features:

🔆 A new centralized shade shelter and playground zone next to the existing splash pad and basketball court

🌼 New picnic tables, park benches and tables to provide excellent vantages points to supervise the playground and other park activities

🚶‍♂️ New pathways to better encourage year-round access, in particular for those with mobility challenges

🏀 Upgrades to the existing basketball court which could be used as an outdoor rink during the colder months if the community continues to participate in the Community Outdoor Rink program

🌳 Preservation of green space and planting more trees
