We are updating our existing 2013 Climate Change Adaptation Plan to develop a more comprehensive community-based climate adaptation plan to address climate change risks and help the community adapt to a changing climate.

It is the intent that the plan will be completed by March 2025.

We want to ensure that this plan is informed by Moncton residents so that it can adequately serve the needs of the community in the face of a changing climate and more frequent extreme weather events.

HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE

We have partnered with Delphi, an expert consulting firm, to support the development of the plan. Over the next several months there will be opportunities for the public to share their thoughts and help shape the priorities and actions.

Proposed public engagement activities include:

  • Community survey – Understanding current level of preparedness and identifying adaptation actions. This survey is open to all residents of the City of Moncton.
  • Information session – Public open house on draft plan

This survey will be open until Oct. 7, 2024.

Thank you to the Government of New Brunswick’s Environmental Trust Fund for funding this project.
