Consultation has concluded

The 2016-2026 Cultural Plan was adopted by City Council in June 2016. Since then, great strides have been made in bringing more vibrancy and cultural activity in the city.

The Plan touches on aspects for which the City of Moncton plays the following roles:

  • Planning and Policy: Integrating culture into plans and policies across all departments, applying a cultural lens to municipal planning and decision-making.
  • Partner: Establishing and sustaining relationships with external stakeholders, business partners, the community, organizations within the cultural sector and other levels of government.
  • Facilitator and convener: Building connections and strengthening collaboration.
  • Promoter and champion: Acting as an advocate for cultural development within the City and beyond.
  • Funder and provider: Continuing to invest in cultural development, initiatives, programs and activities.

Now that the Plan is beginning its sixth year, the Cultural Board wishes to assess its implementation and review its priorities for the remaining years of this Plan.
