INTRODUCTION
The park located at 35 Fergus Street is getting a facelift in 2022! 😊
With the East End Pool, the East End Youth Centre and the newly-constructed Panacadie Trail, the East End Park will be an even greater place for the neighborhood (and the entire City!) to gather and play! The upgrades to the park consist of two primary elements:
The new Jumpstart Multi Sport Court Moncton in partnership with Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities;
Planned upgrades to the park and playground equipment including new design features, a new playground, and new landscaping.
This project will create a neighborhood social hub for families and friends to enjoy a wide range of accessible activities!
ABOUT THE PARK FEATURES
With the new East End Pool and Panacadie Trail, East End Park is becoming a central location for accessible activities in Moncton. To increase the accessible recreation options for residents in the City and continued upgrades to this park, some of the proposed features include:
The Jumpstart Multi Sport Court Moncton;
Adult outdoor fitness equipment;
A paved asphalt trail connecting to the newly-constructed Panacadie Trail;
Upgraded playground equipment;
New barrier-free picnic tables and park benches strategically placed near activity areas to support easy supervision and interaction between children and caregivers;
Seating areas for quiet contemplation and relaxation, as well as green space;
JUMPSTART MULTI SPORT COURT
The new Jumpstart Multi Sport Court is a generous gift from local Canadian Tire Associate Dealers Rod Landry, Scott Bodnar, and Pierre Lauzon, and Jumpstart. It will include options for organized sport and casual play, including basketball, tennis, ball hockey, pickleball, and playground games with accessible shaded bleachers and seating areas. It will be located adjacent the existing parking lot and future accessible asphalt pathway which will connect the parking lot to the new Panacadie Trail.
