The new public space to be constructed at 37 Pebble Creek Way is a new park in the growing Ryan Street area. With a large open space and linear connections between streets, it will be a hub for neighbourhood play.
There will be a linear gravel trail with shade trees connecting Stillwater Drive to Ruby Way and a gravel trail connecting Ruby Way to Pebble Creek Way.
The park space along Pebble Creek Way will include a new playground with events for children ages 2-12, a shade shelter with benches and a picnic table, a bike rack, and trash receptacles.
The space will be landscaped with new grass and many trees, including screening plants to preserve privacy between the new playground and nearby properties.
The existing drainage ditch will remain, but with added naturalized features such as plants or stones. A future trail connection from Pebble Creek Way will continue southeast to new neighbourhood streets as they are completed, creating a central community space with easy access.
So, how can you - the residents - help design this space?
1) Review the site plan and playground options found in the Photo Gallery to the right. All the features for each proposed play park are listed under the image, so you can compare.
2) To respond to the survey, the first step is to register as a participant in the Let's Chat Moncton public engagement portal. This will allow you to submit your feedback for this project, and others in the future. Registering is quick and easy - less than 2-3 minutes! (Just remember to include a space in your postal code.)
3) Click on the project Survey tab below to get started... The survey should take less than 3 minutes to complete, and the deadline to submit feedback is June 21.
This step will help the Parks and Leisure Services team plan out and design the project, with construction expected to take place in Summer 2020.
