The project team is currently working through final updates to draft Vision Lands Secondary Plan documents and exploring potential funding options for core infrastructure required to open the Vision Lands for development.

At this stage, no timeline for active construction is available.


The Vision Lands is an approximately 1,400-acre area bounded by Mapleton Road, the Trans-Canada Highway, Wheeler Boulevard, Morton Avenue, and McLaughlin Drive.


The City is undertaking a planning process to:

  • Develop a sustainable master plan for the western portion of the Vision Lands (from the north Branch of Halls Creek to Mapleton Road).
  • Explore the creation of a new Regional Park.
  • Update the existing Secondary Municipal Plan for the Vision Lands.
