Consultation has concluded

The existing park located at 121 Savannah Drive is getting an upgrade in 2024!

We have an exciting improvement plan for the neighbourhood park. With new play experiences, inviting seating areas, and functional upgrades like drainage, and street shade trees, we're creating an inviting and vibrant space for the community. The existing playground equipment will remain in place, while we are enhancing it by adding some exciting new features around it.

Proposed features:

  • An adventure play area including a new ‘Log Jam’ climbing structure, the relocated climbing wall, wood chip pathways under the existing red maple stand, and seating.
  • New walking paths, a redefined park entrance, and a new crosswalk to facilitate access to the park.
  • A refurbished play area with a new playhouse, and a beach with frog and turtle.
  • New seating and picnic areas to provide excellent vantage points to supervise the playground and other park activities
  • Preservation of green space by planting more trees, improving site drainage, and creating a woodland path.

  • Share This project looks amazing! As manager of Ability NB's Accessible NB program, I am wondering what the accessibility considerations will be for the park upgrades. Our main concerns would accessible paths of travel, especially to play structures, picnic tables, etc.; rest areas in shade; accessible picnic tables and benches; accessible play features; accessible surfacing and more. We would love to help with your design or be a voice on any advisory committees. Please feel free to reach out to us if you would like our help. on Facebook Share This project looks amazing! Hi! Thanks for reaching out. Walking paths to the play equipment and other site amenities will have a traditional walking path surface. This is great for all different sorts of wheels. Curb cuts are provided at the street.

All benches have armrests and rectangular picnic tables can easily be accessed from each side, but there are some tables that have an extra long extension. We can also do square tables with three seats, leaving one side open.

We are always open to new possibilities around inclusivity and will keep your contact information on file and reach out to you as the design progresses!

  • Share Hi, the proposed park plan looks nice. I am just wondering if the exitsting trees (that form a tree buffer) that are located on the park property between the park and the house properties will remain. Hi Marc,

We're glad to hear that you like the look of the proposed plan!

The trees that are located on the park property between the park and the houses will remain.

    Kind regards,
